Josie joined WINGS in January 2011 as the Development Coordinator. Josie holds a B.A. in Philosophy from the University of Washington and a Master’s in Public Health from Columbia University. Notably, during her graduate studies, Josie was honored as a Leopold Schepp Scholar and recipient of Columbia University’s Weatherhead East Asian Institute Fellowship for her work with UNAIDS in Thailand. Josie has over 5 years of experience in the nonprofit sector, working in global and community health, international development, and fundraising. Most recently, Josie worked for a Disabled Persons Organization in Antigua as Development Director, helping to advance the organization’s fundraising efforts and long-term sustainability. Josie has a deep passion for women’s health issues and believes strongly that family planning is key to solving some of her generation’s most pressing global health challenges. She lived and traveled extensively throughout Latin American and Asia, before moving to Guatemala in June 2010.
